Hi, I need your suggestion for my next building. I am not so replace my EUB with weedwacker's string, so later on my next EUB building, I will use this weedwacker's kevlar string, What do you suggest me for the tuning machine or tuning peg? I interest with tuning peg from wood (ebony or rosewood) but how can I build by myself?
this big E string dia 0.5mm

as far as i know basses have always used geared tuners because the amount of torque needed to tension (and hold) the strings is too high for pegs. i have a cello and i think even it should use geared machines rather than pegs...
